Engineer, Plant Operations - FT Days
About the Role
Under direct supervision of the Plant Operations & Maintenance Manager, this role involves planning, organizing, and coordinating minor projects and general corrective and preventive maintenance of equipment and building systems across the PIH Health Hospital campus. Responsibilities include operating and maintaining stationary boilers, chillers, electrical, and mechanical equipment.
PIH Health is a nonprofit, regional healthcare network serving approximately 3 million residents in Los Angeles County, Orange County, and the San Gabriel Valley. The network includes hospitals, outpatient medical offices, a multispecialty physician group, home healthcare, hospice care, and specialized services in heart, cancer, digestive health, orthopedics, women’s health, urgent care, and emergency services. Responsibilities
- Perform planning, organizing, and coordination of minor projects and maintenance tasks.
- Operate and maintain stationary boilers, chillers, electrical, and mechanical equipment.
- Conduct shift rounds to identify potential problems, develop corrective actions, and ensure follow-through.
- Work with little or no direct supervision while demonstrating good judgment and reliability.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Steam license (preferred but not required).
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience as an Operating Engineer.
- Hospital experience (preferred).
- Maintenance and repair experience of major equipment.
- Valid California Driver’s License.

Pay
$32.00–$55.86 per hour.
