About the role
Design, characterize, and optimize advanced electro-optical (EO) focal-plane subsystems across ultraviolet, visible, near-infrared, and infrared detector architectures. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop high-performance, low-noise electronics for space-based imaging systems, provide expertise in interface electronics, and contribute to the full hardware lifecycle—design, development, testing, and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute test plans for focal-plane electronics.
- Perform root-cause analysis on hardware anomalies.
- Support system modeling, risk assessments, and performance trade studies.
- Ensure subsystems meet performance requirements using systems-engineering tools such as DOORS and MBSE.
Requirements
- BS or higher in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in electronics design or focal-plane systems.
- Knowledge of ROIC interfacing, grounding, and EMI mitigation.
- Proficiency in lab instrumentation, Microsoft Office, and programming languages (MATLAB, Python, or FPGA programming).
- On-site work, strong collaboration, initiative, organizational skills, and interpersonal abilities.
Preferred Skills
- Understanding of semiconductor detectors and device physics.
- Experience with FPGA operations and firmware development.
