We are seeking a Senior-level Engineer to join our dynamic and collaborative water/wastewater team in Panama City, FL. A hiring bonus of up to $10,000 is available for the selected candidate.

About the role

The Engineer IV - Water/Wastewater directs the engineering design team through the entire project cycle—from initial concept to successful completion. This role involves coordinating the efforts of the engineering team, contractors, and project managers to achieve project goals efficiently while ensuring all aspects of design, planning, and final delivery meet budget and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the planning, design, and production of lift stations, pipelines, and/or water/wastewater treatment systems, providing oversight and ensuring alignment with project goals, schedules, and budget.
  • Use team management skills to guide the design group during the conceptual phase, following CPH and client standards and templates.
  • Direct the development of action plans and estimate resource requirements, including labor, materials, and time.
  • Develop deliverables such as plans, design reports, and technical specifications.
  • Supervise junior engineers in evaluating shop drawings and oversee construction administration duties as the Engineer of Record.
  • Monitor project progress, compare actual costs with estimates, and prepare monthly reports detailing progress and costs for management.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to develop scope and man-hour estimates for various projects.
  • Review and study existing equipment, facilities, systems, and processes to improve efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Travel periodically for business development, project management, site investigations, and construction observation, including preparation or review of subsequent reports and exhibits.
  • Cooperate with engineers from other plants to share solutions to common problems.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external clients.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with Deltek Vision, Smartsheet, or similar software platforms.
  • Ability to lead and inspire a team effectively.
  • Experience collaborating within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Strong multi-tasking skills with strict adherence to project schedules and budgets.
  • Knowledge of codes, design, and construction practices.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Civil or Environmental Engineering with a P.E. license in the state of Florida.
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience with municipal utilities, stormwater design, or water/wastewater treatment systems.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering principles and industry standards related to pipelines, lift stations, pumps, water lines, stormwater systems, and water/wastewater treatment facilities.
