Engineer Intern (Summer 2027)

Position Summary This intern position will be responsible for researching, developing, and assisting with improving manufacturing processes, methods, and systems for products, facilities, fixtures, tooling, equipment, and/or materials. The intern will be assigned a mentor to assist with personal goal setting for the internship. The internship will include awareness training and an orientation to Health, Safety, Security and Environmental (HSSE) regulations at the nitrogen plant. Education Requirements College student studying mechanical, chemical or environmental engineering who has completed or entering into their Junior or Senior year at an accredited College or UniversityCumulative GPA of at least a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, preferredLegally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis Experience Requirements Excellent written and verbal communication; and presentation skillsExpert technical skills in Microsoft Office Suite and other related platforms/systemsOut of the box thinking, problem solving, relationship building and interpersonal skillsCollaborative team player with ability to partner and liaise with varying levels and departments within the organizationHighly organized, efficient with process improvement mindset and skillsetAbility to meet strict deadlinesAbility to understand and follow specific plant procedures for safetyPrevious work and/or coursework experience with manufacturing/process engineering, preferredFluent in English, both oral and written Major Accountabilities During the course of the internship, the intern will participate in the following: Safety and Team MeetingsWork performing preventative maintenanceWork to perform troubleshooting and instrument repairsMay shadow Plant OperatorsMay shadow a Laboratory TechnicianObserve an Instrument Technician testing an Instrument Protective Function (IPF)Make computer entriesMay operate equipmentMay participate in Lock-out/Tag-out process EXPECTED RESULTS Facilitate a meeting.Show forth progress made on all goals set at beginning of internship.Learn how to develop and test work methods and procedures.Ensure the performance/quality of materials, products, and machines meet specifications and standards.Ensure technical outcomes are consistent with established engineering principles and practices while adhering to customer and company technical, system, performance, and quality requirements.Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
