About the role

The GN&T Network Security team is seeking a skilled Engineer to join the Security Defense organization. This role focuses on Enterprise Access and involves discovering and identifying all network assets within the assigned area.

Responsibilities

  • Discover and identify all network assets and asset information (model, version, etc.) in your respective area of responsibility.
  • Apply existing routing, switching, security, and network architecture knowledge to understand asset function and safeguard said assets through continuous monitoring and proactive threat detections.
  • Build a deep understanding of network assets and develop a roadmap to quickly assess the impact of vulnerabilities and identify end-of-life/end-of-support hardware/software.
  • Audit inventory of all network assets and asset information (model, version, etc.) in your respective area of responsibility.
  • Assist with developing a baseline of normal operations and implement threat detections to alert of deviations and proactively identify potential cyber threats.
  • Lead and assist daily operations with team members and platform owners regarding network security of owned assets, including running scans, monitoring, and creating dashboards.
  • Utilize automation and scripting where appropriate to assist in leading and assisting daily operations.
  • Assist in developing incident response protocols to quickly identify, contain, and resolve network security incidents and threats.
  • Understand the current state of cybersecurity and improve the security posture through the implementation of the Network Security Fundamentals (Access Management, Situational Awareness, Configuration Hardening, Vulnerability Mitigation).
  • Owning and accounting for the network security scorecard and help drive increased maturity, visibility, and subject-matter expertise.
  • Ensure that the security controls planned for the networks are operating effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or three or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
  • Experience with networks, 4G/5G wireless network functions, or virtualization technologies like Openstack and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Bash Shell scripting, Python, or relevant scripting and automation knowledge.
  • Experience configuring and managing Routers, Switches, and Firewalls.
  • Experience with Splunk or other data analysis tools.
  • Familiarity with Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions.
  • Knowledge of technical product and systems development lifecycle.
  • Proven track record of managing and delivering results.
  • Effective written, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Pay

$81,000.00 - $155,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule.

Schedule

This role is hybrid, with a minimum of three days per week in the office and the option to work from home.
