Engineer III (Mechanical)

PowerSouth Energy Cooperative, headquartered in Andalusia, AL, is a generation and transmission (G&T) electric cooperative serving 22 distribution members across 51 counties in Alabama and 10 counties in Florida.

About the role

The Engineer III (Mechanical) provides engineering support to the Engineering and Operations Division, focusing on the design, specification, and evaluation of facilities and equipment for the generation, transmission, and distribution of electrical power.

Responsibilities

• Designs facilities to ensure reliable power supply for members.
• Reviews and writes specifications for equipment to meet industry standards.
• Performs engineering calculations using standard formulas or computer techniques to ensure proper system design and operation.
• Completes special projects, such as evaluating equipment or developing software to improve efficiency.
• Promotes teamwork, communication, and cooperation within the department, division, and across the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
