About the role

Clymer Farner Barley (CFB) is a dynamic and innovative company specializing in a wide range of civil engineering and land surveying services. As we continue to expand, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Engineer III (Civil Engineer) to join our team.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria for projects with complex features.
  • Perform advanced engineering calculations and design tasks for civil projects, including stormwater systems, earthwork, residential and commercial site development, roadways, utilities, and drainage systems.
  • Prepare plans, specifications, cost estimates, permit applications, project schedules, and other technical documentation.
  • Utilize advanced engineering software, including AutoCAD Civil 3D and other relevant design and modeling tools.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, contractors, regulatory agencies, and internal teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Exercise sound professional judgment while working under moderate supervision with general review of completed work.
  • Assist with onboarding, training, and mentoring junior engineering staff.
  • Participate in client meetings, project discussions, and official communications as needed.
  • Progressively assume greater responsibility and leadership within project teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET/EAC-accredited program.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT/EI) certification required.
  • Progress toward Professional Engineer (PE) licensure preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in civil design and/or construction preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and related engineering software.
  • Experience with hydraulic and hydrologic modeling software, such as StormWise or Bentley programs, is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of engineering standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
