About the role

Successful candidate will perform a variety of engineering and design activities involving power plant upgrades and/or new power plant projects under the supervision of senior engineering staff. The role involves evaluation, selection, and application of standard engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria. You will assist with calculations, modifications, and designs to improve plant performance, safety, and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with performing electrical engineering calculations, modifications, and designs.
  • Evaluate conditions, propose modifications, and develop design changes for power plant systems.
  • Work on project teams with other engineers to enhance plant performance, safety, and reliability.
  • Prepare and present design documents to client review boards.
  • Perform walk-downs of equipment in an industrial plant environment, including climbing ladders, accessing security-controlled areas, and entering confined spaces or controlled hazardous areas.
  • Travel to client sites for on-site field/office work as required.

Requirements

  • BS in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, with nuclear engineering experience preferred.
  • Technical knowledge of electrical power distribution systems (switchgear, motor control centers, circuit breakers, etc.).
  • Familiarity with electrical load flow, voltage drop, and short circuit calculation methodology.
  • Proficiency in Mathcad and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Effective time management skills for handling multiple concurrent projects.
  • Ability to pass security and drug screening and maintain unescorted access to commercial nuclear power plants.
  • Understanding of and compliance with company policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Willingness to work overtime and travel to client sites as needed.

Qualifications

  • Professional Engineering (PE) registration is preferred.
  • Ability to comply with U.S. export control laws, if applicable to the position.
