Responsibilities
- Create, configure, and maintain CI/CD pipelines as well as enforce and adjust standards as needed
- Expand, optimize, and refactor CI/CD pipelines for enhanced efficiency, security, reliability, and observability
- Configure, monitor, and maintain applications, services, and environments
- Create, maintain, and update Configuration as Code (CaC) (Ansible experience is a plus)
- Create templates, roles and playbooks for CaC which are reused across multiple systems or environments
- Create pipelines design patterns for pipeline build and deployment of container-based applications and services
- Deploy and maintain applications into Kubernetes using Helm charts
- Lead analysis of environments, systems, and services to remediate service degradation and service outages
- Identify root causes for service degradation and service outages
- Provide in-depth knowledge of IAM, encryption, and security policies to ensure secure practices
- Innovate on pipelines including build, test, and deployment stages
- Create, maintain, and update documentation and deployment diagrams, including revising formats for best practices
- Identify improvements and areas for innovation in the codebase to drive a DevOps culture
- Suggest and implement improvements to existing software development processes and workflows
- Promote communication, integration, and collaboration for enhanced software development productivity
- Provide technical mentoring to the more junior DevOps Engineers
- Ensure all changes comply with change management policies and procedures
- Ensure all applications and services are monitored and help identify the key metrics required for observability
- Aid application engineering analysis of applications and services from monitoring and as well as trending from key observability metrics
Qualifications
- Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree Major: Computer Engineering or Computer Science
- Experience: 5+ years relevant experience
- Tech Skills: Mastery of AWS or Azure, PowerShell, python, bash, or other scripting languages, Configuration as Code (CaC) with Ansible, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform, Expertise with source control and git (GitLab and GitLab Runners), Expertise with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab Runners), Expertise with containers (Docker Images or Kubernetes), Experience with modern multi-tier applications, Large scale multi-site operations experience, Experience with operating systems administration (Windows and Linux), Knowledge of browser-based technology, Knowledge of networking, Knowledge of Microsoft productivity applications, Experience with observability and monitoring solutions (Dynatrace experience preferred), Experience with Atlassian tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence), Experience with Agile processes and methods, Experience with integration services and messaging brokers (TIBCO BusinessWorks, BusinessConnect and EMS), Experience with serverless code or Function as a Service (FaaS) (Azure Functions and AWS Lambda), Development experience with any of the listed technologies (.NET, Java, C#, Python), Experience with relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase, MySQL, Postgres, AWS Aurora, Azure SQL)
