Engineer III

Purpose

Thatcher Chemical facilities across the nation create essential chemistries, processes, and solutions that support clean water, safe environments, reliable infrastructure, and critical industries.

About the role

Thatcher Company is seeking a Process Engineer III to join our engineering team in Salt Lake City, UT.

Responsibilities

• Promote understanding and application of safety practices.
• Optimize plant production and efficiency by implementation of improvement opportunities and management of process constraints.
• Work with operations and manufacturing experts to resolve technical issues.
• Develop and maintain process documentation and safety information such as P&IDs, material balances, equipment datasheets, process line sizing calculations, hydraulic calculations and datasheets for instruments and relief devices.
• Contribute to process safety and environmental performance through participation in process hazards analysis (PHA), management of changes (MOC), and incident investigation.
• Manage capital projects from design through startup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering with 8+ years of experience in a process facility.
• Ability to travel up to 20% of time.

What Will Put You Ahead

• The pay for the successful candidate will depend on various factors (e.g., qualifications, education, prior experience).
• Experience in process controls, project management, or process safety management.
• Experience with AutoCAD LT, AFT Fathom, or SolidWorks.
• Experience in process industry/manufacturing.
