About the Role

Mechanical Power Conversion (MPC) at Collins Aerospace is seeking a driven Sustaining Engineer to support production programs across a variety of aerospace technologies. In this role, you will lead cross-functional teams in engineering, operations, quality, and purchasing to ensure on-time deliveries and program commitments. You will manage customer relationships, provide technical support, and drive cost-saving initiatives while maintaining a strong focus on mechanical components and assemblies. This position offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on the financial success of our site.

Responsibilities

  • Confidently provide clear, concise communications with customers, peers, and Collins leadership.
  • Lead Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA) efforts to identify causes and mitigation plans for issues affecting program productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide customer support for Field Failure investigations.
  • Pursue cost-saving opportunities to maximize project profitability.
  • Consolidate and present plans and progress reports relating to business aspects of the project.
  • Liaise between project management, planning, project teams, and production line management to support plant output.
  • Prepare project estimates and project plans; manage project schedule, budgets, and status.
  • Plan, direct, and oversee activities of an Integrated Project Team (IPT).
  • Support Quality investigations when piece-part issues affect product deliveries.
  • Understand and execute test procedures; analyze, interpret, and report test results.
  • Verify internal processes are being executed to reduce the probability of engineering setbacks.
  • Assess customer issues and develop resolutions that meet Collins and customer objectives.
  • Read and interpret drawings, provide markups, and coordinate drawing releases.
  • Document best practices into engineering standard work.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations, and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Aerospace industry experience.
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience with mechanical hardware.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams across departments and business units.
  • Experience and/or understanding of the engineering change process.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $68,900 – $131,100 USD.
