Engineer II, EHS

About the role

Systems, LLC, an affiliate of Chamberlain Group, is a U.S.-based manufacturer of loading dock equipment marketed under the Poweramp, DLM, and McGuire brands. With manufacturing facilities in Germantown, Wisconsin and Malvern, Arkansas, all products are designed and produced in the USA using lean manufacturing techniques. The Environmental/Health/Safety Engineer II role is within CG's Environmental, Health & Safety Group.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and lead safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments; issue compliance reports to managers.
• Investigate incidents and near misses; identify root causes, issue recommendations, and maintain recordable and non‑recordable incident records in accordance with OSHA and CG Global EHS requirements.
• Develop and deliver safety training programs including Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Inspection Plan (IP) team guidance; maintain updated team member lists.
• Maintain regulatory compliance documentation and reporting in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
• Support implementation of EHS programs including LOTO, machine guarding, ergonomics, and contractor safety.
• Conduct ergonomic evaluations with manufacturing engineers and propose designs to meet ergonomic criteria.
• Analyze safety metrics, identify trends, and publish occupational health and safety performance data for facility leadership.
• Coordinate with operations to implement hazard controls and support capital projects with EHS design input.
• Participate in environmental compliance activities including air, waste, and water programs.
• Lead the Safety Committee, managing meeting schedules, agendas, and employee engagement activities.
• Support end‑to‑end workers' compensation claims process, including incident investigation, root‑cause analysis, recordkeeping, and return‑to‑work programs.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines and promote team compliance.
• Maintain confidentiality of Chamberlain Group information.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops, reading publications, networking, and participating in professional societies.
• Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience with an emphasis in environmental, health and safety program management.
• Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local standards and regulations on health, safety, and environmental protection.
• Working knowledge of chemical testing and analyzing equipment.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing technologies and processes.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and related applications.
• OSHA 30‑Hour General Industry certification.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering.
• EHS experience in an approved Safe Industry program.
• Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Experience with ISO 14001 / ISO 45001.
• Basic knowledge of SAP.
• Basic knowledge of work environment measurement equipment.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $60,400.00 – $97,525.00; base pay may vary based on factors such as location, education, training, and experience.
