Engineer II, Data

About the role

Bellese Technologies is seeking talented Data Engineers to join the HQR Team. This is a 100% Remote position requiring a public trust background check with the federal government. Positions are available to US Citizens or those with a current Green Card.

Responsibilities

• Leverage test-driven development to deliver backend systems and user interfaces to ease development and integration between them.
• Contribute to the development of APIs, specifications, and data models, facilitating integration with frontend applications and third-party systems.
• Design, implement, and maintain data interactions.
• Optimize data operations for performance and scalability, and ensure data integrity and security.
• Design and develop user interfaces, informed by UX designs that meet customer needs.
• Understand and contribute to functional and non-functional automated testing suites.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Strong experience with Python / Apache Spark (non-negotiable).
• Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL process, orchestration, and distributed computing.
• Strong understanding of software design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Related experience in analytic programming, data extraction, querying databases/data warehouses, and data analysis.
• Experience utilizing CI/CD Pipelines.

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS Experience (S3, EC2, Glue, Lambda, etc).
• R experience.
• Professional Databricks/Apache Spark Certification(s).
• SAS experience.
