Engineer II, Advanced Research (Remote)
About the role
The Advanced Research team at CrowdStrike is expanding. We develop innovative detection capabilities to stay ahead of adversaries and prevent breaches. We seek a software engineer with experience building and maintaining cloud services. You’ll work with a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with Security, Data Science, Engineering, and Visualization experts to create solutions for complex security challenges.
Responsibilities
- Work with industry-leading technologies like Kafka, Flink, Redis, ElasticSearch and Cassandra and LLMs.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance the capabilities of distributed cloud services.
- Keep services up and running in a healthy state.
- Closely work with other internal engineering teams to integrate new capabilities into our Falcon platform.
Requirements
- United States Citizenship OR Permanent Residency is necessary to retain access to resources for this role (NO Clearance necessary).
- A Computer science degree or commensurate experience.
- Programming expertise in at least one language (Java / Scala, Go, or Python experience is preferred).
- A solid understanding of distributed systems, scalability, RESTful patterns, and multithreading concepts.
- Proficiency building and scaling services in production.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools and processes such as Jenkins / Bamboo.
- Experience interacting with major cloud provider APIs to provision cloud infrastructure, and to monitor it (AWS, GCP, AZURE).
- Effective communication across functions and levels throughout the company.
- Proven experience utilizing AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, improve efficiency and drive business outcomes.
Bonus points
- Familiarity with AWS, Kafka, Flink, Grafana.
- Experience with containerization and container orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong debugging skills.
- Hands-on experience in large-scale (distributed) system architecture, high scalability and availability, and optimization.
- Experience working in cybersecurity or intelligence fields.

Pay
$100,000 - $145,000 per year, with eligibility for bonuses, equity grants and a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, 401k and paid time off.
Schedule
This role will require the candidate to periodically undergo and pass additional background and fingerprint check(s) consistent with government customer requirements.
