About the Role
We are looking for an Engineer I, Software Developer to join the Space Development Agency (SDA) project. As a Software Engineer on the SDA program, you will gain experience in software development and maintenance used to monitor/schedule/operate a constellation of satellites. You will work to deliver high-quality work projects/deliverables to completion within the larger development team to support cross-functional efforts across all areas of ground system software development.
Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with your team to develop and enhance software related to the SDA project
- Aid in developing optimized code for both scalability and performance
- Work within the Agile/Scrum framework for software development (Atlassian tool suite desired)
- Support efforts in creating and/or maintaining build environments for software products
- Participate in updating issue/feature data in Atlassian Project/Software tracking tools
- Follow existing Iridium processes for Change Control, Prioritization, Risk Management, Commercial off the shelf (COTS) Management, Build, and Test software deployments and use knowledge to assist in development of process/procedure documentation materials
- Edit, structure, and present data, concepts, and arguments clearly and succinctly, through briefings and documentation
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, or other engineering discipline
- Exposure to Agile based teams
- Working knowledge of one or more programming languages (e.g., C, C++, Python, Java, or similar)
- Familiarity with version control tools (e.g., Git) and basic debugging practices
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate key messages and ideas clearly and effectively
- The ability to think outside the box to help solve problems, with the humility to ask for help when needed
- The ability to adapt to a dynamic environment and the readiness to take on any new tasks that are handed to you
- A motivation to achieve outcomes and results
- The ability to handle multiple tasks at once and complete them on time with mostly no errors
- The ability to prioritize tasks, be self-aware enough to identify and correct mistakes, and not be afraid to ask for help when needed
- The ability to seek out ways to improve oneself and gain new knowledge, and be enthusiastic in sharing knowledge with others
Qualifications
- Work in the office at least 3 or more days a week to foster collaboration with the team and stakeholders
- Be a U.S. citizen

Base Pay Range: $70,000 - $87,000 USD Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors and this range represents an estimate of compensation at the time of posting. Base salary is only one part of our compensation package for this role. You may also be eligible for company stock and annual bonus.
