About the Role

Reporting to the Plant Operations Manager, the Engineer/HVAC Technician is responsible for the proper and continued operation and maintenance of all building mechanical systems to maintain a safe and satisfactory working environment that sustains and preserves assets. This includes performing preventative maintenance, proactively identifying and fulfilling work orders, and actively problem-solving.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, maintain, and repair assigned HVAC equipment and controls, chilled water systems, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and various other mechanical, electrical, and building systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Proactively identify, fulfill, and resolve work orders.
  • Identify potential issues during shift rounds, develop corrective actions, and implement solutions.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma.
  • Valid California Driver’s License and automobile insurance.
  • Demonstrated competence in HVAC repair and maintenance.

Qualifications

  • HVAC control systems service and repair experience.
  • Experience servicing and maintaining a wide variety of HVAC control systems and air systems.
  • Honest, reliable, dependable, and able to meet the demands of the work environment.
  • Good critical thinking skills, accurate data collection, and ability to work with little or no direct supervision.

Preferred Experience

  • Prior experience in a hospital environment.
  • HVAC Technician Certification (EPA Clean Air Section 608).
  • Building Automation Control System experience.
  • Boiler Operator experience.
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years’ experience with hospital/commercial HVAC equipment and systems.

Pay

$32.00–$55.86 per hour.
