Purpose of the Role
Performs advanced technical and engineering problem-solving in support of Clean Energy Center (CEC) operations. Responsible for technical decisions with strong knowledge in functional discipline and its practical application, including detailed knowledge of applicable industry codes and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Provide in-depth technical expertise to develop, manage, and implement engineering analysis, activities, and programs.
- Offer technical expertise and consultation to identify and resolve equipment and system problems.
- Manage engineering issues with complete task ownership.
- Perform engineering and technical tasks applying general engineering principles.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of work, adhering to standard design criteria, practices, and codes.
- Conduct independent research, reviews, studies, and analyses in support of regulatory and technical projects.
- Recommend new concepts and techniques to improve performance, simplify operations, reduce costs, or comply with regulatory changes.
- Support emergency response, departmental coverage, call-outs, and outage activities as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical, or Nuclear) with 5 years of nuclear or related engineering experience.
- Maintain minimum access requirements or unescorted access qualifications, as applicable, including favorable medical examination/testing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Design Engineering Qualifications (DG01, DG03)
- Qualified Nuclear Engineer (QNE) or SRO Certification
Pay
Expected salary range for Senior Engineer level: $122,400–$154,000 per year, based on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).
