General Summary
Monitoring the day-to-day operation of both the primary & secondary wastewater treatment as well as the sludge conditioning.
Prerequisites
- Education: 4-Year Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Pulp & Paper Science, Forestry or equivalent work experience, plus courses on Waste treatment plant operation.
- Work Experience: Two (2) to Four (4) years in treatment plant & pulp & paper mills.
- Certificate/License: Licensed Treatment Plant Operator – Required

Training
One (1) to Six (6) months, depending on experience.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for the day-to-day operation of secondary treatment plant & associated equipment on mill site.
- Maintains compliance with ISO Quality Systems responsibilities.
- Aid in the training of secondary & primary operators, & writing operating procedures.
- Manage sludge landspreading: preparation sites, marking setbacks, sludge deliveries, plowing, planting, snowplowing, farm leases, etc.
- Cookordinate maintenance work on secondary facilities, and help troubleshoot problems.
- Ensure that all required tests are being performed and documented correctly.
- Perform quality assurance work as required.
- Keep records as required.
- Assist the E H & S Manager in the planning, implementation and completion of various environmental projects.
Compensation And Benefits
- Starting salary range for position: $86,400 though $129,600
- Paid Vacation: Three (3) weeks per calendar year. Pro-rata Vacation during the initial year of hire based upon start date within the calendar year.
- Paid Holidays.

- Upon hire, an employee is automatically enrolled in the 401k plan. The plan offers both pre-tax and Roth contribution options along with employer provided matching contributions.
