Job Summary

Responsible to the assigned supervisor for performing intermediate level engineering work activities and projects requiring the application of engineering knowledge in a safe, effective, efficient and economic accomplishment of assigned objectives.

Job Description

  • Able to identify issues with processes and tools and provide possible solutions and provide input to more seasoned personnel.
  • Able to complete complex RPA with both new and legacy aspects. Completes RPA with limited supervision.
  • Able to complete complex RTU configuration with both new and legacy aspects. Completes configuration with limited supervision.
  • Begins to expand communication technology competency to include legacy applications (Async, Sync, AEP, etc).
  • Able to support stakeholders with common SCADA related issues.
  • Able to complete alarm and basic I/O 2411 settings for both greenfield and brownfield projects with limited supervision.
  • Implements standards in appropriate measures with limited guidance from higher-level team members.
  • Assists higher level team members with overall SCADA compliance items.
  • Communicates effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Coordinates work activities of others within the work group, department, or other corporate entity as necessary to perform routine engineering work.

What we’re looking for

  • Engineer/Engineering Technologist Associate SG6: New graduates with a bachelor’s degree in engineering in a program accredited by ABET*, passing the Fundamentals of Engineering examination.
  • Engineer/Engineering Technologist SG7: Typically has a bachelor’s degree in engineering in a program accredited by ABET* with two or more years of related engineering experience.
  • Engineer/Engineering Technologist SG7 (with master’s degree or PhD): Typically has a bachelor’s degree in engineering technology or a master’s degree or PhD in engineering from a program accredited by ABET*.
  • Engineer/Engineering Technologist SG8: Typically has four or more years of related engineering experience along with a bachelor’s degree in engineering in a program accredited by ABET*; or two years of related engineering experience along with a master’s degree or PhD in engineering from a program accredited by ABET*.
  • Engineer/Engineering Technologist SG9: Typically has eight or more years of related engineering experience along with a bachelor’s degree in engineering in a program accredited by ABET*; or six years of related engineering experience along with a master’s or PhD in engineering from a program accredited by ABET*; registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in any U.S. state or Puerto Rico is preferred.
