About the role
An opportunity is available for an Embedded Software Engineer to join a software engineering organization. The role involves developing software for resource-constrained target environments with real-time requirements for various flight, space, or ground systems. The position requires implementing complex data analysis, data routing, and control systems algorithms using procedural and object-oriented software in C++. Responsibilities
- Design, develop, document, test, and debug applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
- Collaborate with equipment designers and hardware engineers in the planning, design, and development of electronic data processing systems for product software.
- Analyze system capabilities to resolve problems related to program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, and programming techniques.
- Prepare operating instructions and design utility programs.
- Ensure software standards are met throughout the development lifecycle.
- Operate in a process-oriented environment, potentially using waterfall, spiral, or agile methodologies.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Software Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
- A minimum of 5 years of software development experience is required.
- Experience with Object-Oriented software design and C++ programming.
- Experience executing in a Real-Time Operating System (RTOS) environment, such as FreeRTOS, RT-Linux, or GH Integrity.
- Familiarity with various processors, memory, and I/O architectures.
- Must have skills in C/C++, Embedded C++ Development, Embedded Linux, Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), Object-Oriented Software Development, and VxWorks.
Qualifications
- Preferred qualifications include:
- Active Top Secret Clearance.
- Experience across the software lifecycle, including systems architecture, requirements definition, OO development, unit testing, and system integration.
- Experience with lab instruments such as noise and signal generators; logic, spectrum, and network analyzers; and power sources and switches.
- Experience with hardware validation and verification of RF, digital, or mixed-signal devices.
Skills
- Experience with Object-Oriented software design and C++ programming.
- Experience executing in a Real-Time Operating System (RTOS) environment, such as FreeRTOS, RT-Linux, or GH Integrity.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
Schedule
The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
