About the Role
Design Engineers create and maintain drawings, software code, bills of materials (BOMs), and documents for electrical and mechanical equipment in compliance with written specifications. They interface with various departments such as manufacturing, customer service, supply chain, and production planning. Familiarity with machinery and shop trades is essential to support the building of designed items. Design Engineers also assist in building and testing new designs and review drawings and documents created by other designers.
Responsibilities
- Familiarity with basic industrial industry standards and internal ISO procedures
- Document control and CAD drawing creation & maintenance
- BOM maintenance
- Support production control and assembly personnel
- Assembly and testing of new designs
- Multi-tasking ability to handle several projects simultaneously
- Software maintenance and testing
- Component selection
Requirements
- Minimum BS in an Engineering or Technical field
- 0+ years of experience in an industrial electrical, mechanical, or software field
- Experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment preferred
- CAD experience (Mechanical/Electrical) preferred
- Proficiency in 2 or more programming languages (for Software roles)
- 3D Modeling Experience preferred (for Mechanical roles)
- Strong organization and excellent time management skills
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- Experience with engineering modeling and analysis software preferred
- Hands-on experience with tools such as computers, hand tools, power tools, meters, and scopes
Skills
- Innovative Problem-Solving: Demonstrate creative thinking and the ability to devise innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges
- Hands-on Experience with Creo Parametric, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD Software
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Ability to work seamlessly with professionals from diverse disciplines
- Effective Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for collaboration within multidisciplinary teams
- Project Management: Proven skills in project planning, execution, and delivery
