Engineer, Design Electrical

Job Summary

At National Machinery, we are seeking an Engineer, Design Electrical to join our innovative team. This position involves designing or developing new or redesigning existing company products, working closely with other engineering areas to define optimum design specifications, and performing control hardware, wiring, and software creation functions.

Responsibilities

• Works closely with other engineering areas to define optimum design specifications.
• Performs control hardware, wiring, and software creation functions with guidance of Senior Design Engineer.
• Prepares sales-related documents, including cost estimates and project scope of supply, for machine design, customization and/or refurbish/rebuild projects.
• Communicates directly with vendors to obtain information and assistance.
• Direct customer contact, including limited travel on a global basis.
• Works directly with sales, aftermarket, purchasing, manufacturing, and assembly departments to resolve engineering related issues.
• Works directly with company or customer’s personnel to determine the cause of electrical malfunctions and conveys appropriate repair procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering field.
• Ability to work and accomplish goals with minimal direction.
• Customer service mentality with the availability for overnight domestic and overseas travel.
• Ability to make decisions independently when in customer’s facility.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office programs.
• Experience working with CAD.
• Experience with PLC, HMI or similar hardware and software.
• Experience with Variable Frequency Drives, commissioning and diagnostics.
• Experience with servo selection, programming and diagnostics.
• Must be able to become first aid and CPR certified.

Work Environment/Physical Demands

Office and shop environment.

Pay Range

$63,400 - $80,600 per year
