Core Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain data structures and pipelines aligned with established standards and guidelines.
  • Ensure data quality during ingestion, processing, and final load to target tables.
  • Create standard ingestion frameworks for structured and unstructured data, and check/report on the quality of data being processed.
  • Create standard methods for end users/downstream applications to consume data, including database views, extracts, and Application Programming Interfaces (APIs).
  • Develop and maintain information systems such as data warehouses and data lakes, including data access APIs.
  • Implement solutions via data architecture, data engineering, or data manipulation on both on-prem platforms like Kubernetes and Teradata, and cloud platforms like Databricks.
  • Determine appropriate storage platforms across different on-prem (minIO and Teradata) and cloud (AWS S3, Redshift) environments based on privacy, access, and sensitivity requirements.
  • Understand data lineage from source to the final semantic layer, along with the transformation rules applied to enable faster troubleshooting and impact analysis during changes.
  • Collaborate with technology and platform management partners to optimize data sourcing and processing rules for appropriate data quality and process optimization.
  • Handle data migrations/conversions as data platforms evolve and new standards are defined.
  • Preemptively recognize and resolve technical issues using knowledge of policies and processes.
  • Understand data sensitivity, customer data privacy rules, and regulations and apply them consistently in all Information Lifecycle Management activities.
  • Identify and react to system notifications and logs to ensure quality standards for databases and applications.
  • Solve abstract problems beyond single development language or situation by reusing data files and flags already set.
  • Solve critical issues and share knowledge such as trends, aggregate, quantity volume regarding specific data sources.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred, but relevant work experience of 2-5 years may be considered.
