About the role
The position is an entry-level corporate controls engineer supporting manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will work in a 6:00AM - 6:10PM AM shift with a rotating 36/48-hour work week schedule, including every other Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Responsibilities
- Supports manufacturing facilities, including remote support of worldwide manufacturing facilities.
- Designs, programs, and coordinates small-scale control systems and projects.
- Aids with coordination of new equipment installation and implementation.
- Maintains and updates manufacturing process tool electrical drawings, ensuring equipment changes are documented and drawings are current.
- Troubleshoots and solves equipment controls-related issues.
- Communicates effectively with multiple departments to ensure compliance with corporate controls policies and standards.
- Assists senior engineers on large projects.
- Maintains effective communication levels and fosters team building.
- Ensures adherence to all safety procedures and good housekeeping standards.
Requirements
- Associates/Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field; or equivalent years of work experience.
- Minimum 1 – 5 years of manufacturing equipment controls engineering experience.
- Understands controls engineering techniques and practices for global facilities.
- Ability to trouble-shoot electrical/electronic control systems.
- Knowledge of global manufacturing processes and safety requirements.
- Proficiency in AutoDesk AutoCad drafting software.
- Programming experience with Rockwell Automation Logix platform PLC’s, HMI, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus, and Ethernet.
- Understanding of robotic systems, including programming, safety requirements, and design/implementation practices.
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware/applications and Microsoft Office.
- Brief understanding of corporate Ethernet and server architectures.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
