Engineer, Control Center

About the role

The Control Center Engineer reports to the Service organization at HyAxiom. The Service organization is responsible for customer support, spare parts management, service engineering, service contract execution, and field service of HyAxiom’s stationary fuel cell fleet. HyAxiom's state-of-the-art Control Center monitors the worldwide fleet of fuel cells. The Control Center Engineer is the first point of contact for customer inquiries through phone and email, and is first to receive fuel cell alarms from the fuel cell's remote monitoring system.

Responsibilities

• Receive alarms from fuel cells, use manuals and troubleshooting guides to provide a comprehensive work order for field service personnel.
• Take remote action when possible, to tune fuel cell and ancillary equipment to optimize system performance.
• Conduct remote fuel cell starts.
• Communicate all fuel cell outages to the HyAxiom FCA Senior Management team.
• Work with new and existing monitoring systems to analyze the health of the fleet, troubleshoot systems, support field service, and optimize power plant performance.
• Develops plans to meet the objectives of short and longer-term assignments.
• Demonstrates effective problem-solving skills.
• Encourage and build mutual trust, respect and cooperation among team members and beyond.

Requirements

• Education & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or Associate’s degree plus 3 years of experience in field service engineering, systems engineering, troubleshooting, or system controls.
• Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
• 0-3 years of experience in field service engineering, systems engineering, troubleshooting, and system controls.
• Knowledge & Skills:
• Robust process and systems understanding, know-how and expertise.
• Working knowledge of field service engineering processes.
• Knowledge of relevant troubleshooting techniques and system controls.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Adaptability to complete various tasks as business needs change.
