About the role

The Engineer is responsible for maintaining the hotel's physical property, equipment, and building systems to ensure a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for guests and associates.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on guest rooms, public areas, and hotel equipment.
  • Inspect building systems and identify maintenance needs before they become operational issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of completed preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest maintenance requests.
  • Coordinate with Housekeeping and Front Office to prioritize room readiness.
  • Assist with room inspections and address maintenance deficiencies as needed.
  • Support hotel operations by assisting with projects, equipment moves, and other maintenance-related tasks.
  • Follow all company safety policies, OSHA guidelines, and applicable building codes.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Report safety hazards, equipment failures, and maintenance concerns promptly.
  • Assist with emergency procedures and respond to maintenance-related emergencies as required.
  • Work collaboratively with all hotel departments to support daily operations.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with coworkers, vendors, and contractors.
  • Participate in training and meetings as required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One (1) year of maintenance, facilities, or hotel engineering experience preferred.
  • Basic working knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and general building maintenance.
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools safely.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • A flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business demands require.

Physical Requirements

  • Stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequently bend, kneel, crouch, climb ladders, and reach overhead.
  • Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
