Engineer
About the role
The Engineer at The Greenleigh River Oaks will play a critical role in maintaining the hotel’s facilities, systems, and equipment to ensure a safe, comfortable, and well-functioning environment for guests and team members.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on hotel equipment, systems, and facilities
- Respond to maintenance requests from guests and team members in a timely and professional manner
- Maintain guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas to ensure functionality and safety
- Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems as needed
- Conduct regular inspections of building systems and equipment
- Aid in maintaining tools, equipment, and engineering workspaces
- Support energy conservation and sustainability initiatives when applicable
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and company policies
- Work collaboratively with other departments to support smooth hotel operations
- Perform additional duties and assignments as required
Requirements
- Prior experience in hotel engineering, facilities maintenance, or building maintenance preferred
- Basic knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
- Ability to troubleshoot and complete repairs independently
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment
- Professional and service-oriented demeanor
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays when needed
- Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and move throughout the property for extended periods
- Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and reach while performing maintenance tasks
- Ability to work with tools and mechanical equipment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- First aid/CPR certification
