About the role

Operate, maintain, and perform repairs on assigned HVACR equipment and controls, chilled water systems, steam systems, refrigeration systems, and various other mechanical and electrical systems in a multi-tenant high-rise commercial building to ensure optimal customer relations.

Responsibilities

  • Respond in a professional, polite, and helpful manner when dealing with customers.
  • Operate, maintain, and repair HVAC/R equipment including air handlers, chillers, and refrigeration systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on HVACR and associated systems.
  • Address on-demand HVAC requests from building tenants.
  • Work on elevated platforms and in confined spaces.
  • Perform other tasks as instructed within contracted guidelines.
  • Take direction from the Chief Engineer.
  • Complete paperwork and prepare reports thoroughly and accurately.
  • Assist in emergencies, including emergency calls at non-scheduled hours.
  • Work according to the schedule prepared by the Chief Engineer.
  • Return all work areas to a clean, neat, orderly, and safe condition.
  • Learn, understand, and comply with fire, safety, and other emergency practices.
  • Inform supervisor of any unsafe conditions observed.
  • Learn, understand, and comply with all Company and customer policies.
  • Participate in training to increase job-related skills.
  • Assist in training other employees as directed.
  • Work overtime as needed.

Requirements

  • High school graduate.
  • Universal EPA refrigeration certification required.
  • Engineer License, Special License, or Boilers License preferred.
  • Preferred two or more years of experience with commercial HVACR equipment and systems.
  • Basic knowledge of equipment, tools, and materials used in building maintenance.
  • Basic computer skills with knowledge of Office products.
  • Ability to lift and carry over 50 lbs.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to keep detailed records of activities performed and complete basic reports.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and other technical documentation.
  • Ability to maintain good working relations with other staff, client contacts, and employees.
  • Availability to work shifts and overtime as needed.

Pay

$51.54 per hour. A specific offer will vary based on applicant’s experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, first shift.
