Engineer 3 - Engineer 5

EngineeringFull-time
We need to output HTML fragment with sections using

for headings: About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. Only include sections that have real specific content. Remove boilerplate, navigation, EEO, etc. Keep substantive info. Let's parse the posting. Content: - About This Job: description of DOTD, mission, seeking experienced Construction Engineer to support transportation projects... includes details about role, location, reports to Engineer 6, compliance, etc. This is about the role. - Minimum Qualifications: Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice professional engineering. Note about out-of-state license, need to obtain LA license prior to appointment. Also mention verification. - Job Specification: link to official job specs (but that's a link; we may keep as part of Qualifications? Might be considered "Qualifications" section. But we have to preserve substantive info; we can include a paragraph referencing that specs can be found at link. - Job Duties: list of duties (bulleted). This is responsibilities. - Position-Specific Details: Career Progression: position may be filled as Engineer 3,4,5 based on qualifications. Compensation: SER rates: Engineer 3 - $3,083.20/bi-weekly; Engineer 4 - $3,529.60/bi-weekly; Engineer 5 - $3,776.80/bi-weekly. Additional compensation may be considered... Appointment Type: probational, promotion, Job Appointment, detail to special duty. - How To Apply: instructions (but we must remove application instructions per rule). So drop that. - Contact info: For Further Information About This Vacancy, Contact: Todd Jones etc. This is contact info; maybe we can keep as part of "About the role" or a separate section? The rule says we can include sections only when posting has real specific content. Contact info is specific; but we don't have a heading for Contact. Not in allowed headings list. Could fold into About the role paragraph. - EEO statement: remove. Thus we need sections: About the role (maybe combine About This Job and mission), Responsibilities (Job Duties), Requirements (Minimum Qualifications + maybe licensing), Qualifications (maybe Career Progression? Actually Qualifications could be about experience/education; but we have licensing requirement. Could treat Requirements as licensing, Qualifications as career progression? But we need to avoid thin sections. Let's think. We have: - About the role: description of DOTD, mission, role purpose, location, reports to Engineer 6, compliance. - Responsibilities: list of duties (engineering work, review plans, monitor contractor work, coordinate, review quantities, support certification, assist with issues, support emergency response). - Requirements: Minimum Qualifications (Louisiana PE license, out-of-state allowed but must obtain LA license prior to appointment). Also maybe mention that no prior licensed engineering experience required? Actually says "No prior licensed engineering experience is required — training is provided". That's a qualification/training note. Could be part of Requirements or Qualifications. - Qualifications: Career Progression (Engineer 3-5 based on qualifications). Could be considered Qualifications. - Pay: Compensation details (SER rates). That's specific. - Benefits: Not mentioned explicitly. No benefits details. So we should not create Benefits section. - Schedule: Not mentioned. So omit. - Skills: Not explicitly listed; maybe implied but not specific. Better not to create. Thus we will output sections: About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Pay. Check if any other specific content like "Appointment Type" could be part of Qualifications or Requirements? Could be part of Qualifications (type of appointment). But we can include a paragraph under Qualifications about appointment types. We must not repeat job title as heading. The page already shows it; we don't add. We must not include Job ID/requisition numbers. We must preserve all substantive information; do not invent or summarize away detail. We need to ensure we keep all details: mention DOTD mission, location Lincoln Parish District 05, reports to Engineer 6, compliance with laws, etc. Minimum Qualifications: possession of current Louisiana license to practice professional engineering; note about out-of-state license; verification; link to lapels.com. Job Specification link: we can include as a sentence: "Official job specifications can be found here: [link]" but we need to preserve the link? The original says "can be found here ." Actually there is a space and then a link? It says "can be found here ." Probably missing URL. We'll keep as is: "Official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found here." We'll keep that sentence. Job Duties: list each duty as
  • . Position-Specific Details: Career Progression: This position is part of a Career Progression Group and may be filled as Engineer 3, 4, or 5 based on qualifications and agency needs. Compensation: These positions qualify for a Special Entrance Rate (SER). Engineer 3 - $3,083.20/bi-weekly Engineer 4 - $3,529.60/bi-weekly Engineer 5 - $3,776.80/bi-weekly Additional compensation may be considered impart with extraordinary qualifications in accordance with State Civil Service Rules and DOTD policy. Appointment Type: This position may be filled as either a probational appointment (open to all qualified applicants); a promotion (open to all statewide classified and Agency-wide permanent status employees); Job Appointment (temporary appointment in a classified position for a limit of four years); or by detail to special duty. We need to keep all that. Now format. We'll produce:

We need to ensure we didn't include Benefits or Schedule sections. Good. Check for any leftover boilerplate: we removed EEO, application instructions, contact info? We omitted contact info. The rule says we can drop application instructions and contact info? It says remove cookie/navigation/legal/EEO/equal-opportunity/scam-warning boilerplate, duplicated lines, and application instructions. Contact info is not explicitly forbidden, but it's not a heading we have. Could be considered part of "About the role" but we omitted. It's okay to omit as it's not required to preserve? The rule says preserve ALL substantive information; do NOT invent or summarize away detail. Contact info is substantive. Should we keep it? It's not a heading we have, but we could embed it in a paragraph under About the role or Qualifications. The rule says we can fold minor metadata into a short

or drop it. Contact info maybe considered minor metadata? It's not job ID/requisition numbers. It's contact for further information. Might be considered minor metadata; we could drop it. The instruction: "do NOT put Job ID / requisition numbers as headings — fold minor metadata into a short

or drop it." Contact info is not Job ID/requisition numbers, but could be considered metadata. Safer to keep it? The rule says preserve ALL substantive information; contact info is substantive. However, the allowed headings list does not include a "Contact" heading. We could include it as a paragraph under About the role or maybe under Qualifications. I'd include a short paragraph with contact info under About the role after the mission description. Let's add: "For further information about this vacancy, contact Todd Jones, Engineer 8, 318-428-3171, Todd.Jones2@la.gov; or Matthew Jantz, Engineer 6/District 05, 318-251-4117, Matthew.Jantz@la.gov." We'll put that as a

after the About the role paragraph. Now check for any duplicated lines: we have not duplicated. Check for any mention of "Please visit our DOTD Career Center for more information about our agency." That's boilerplate/navigation; we should remove. We removed. Check for "Please visit our DOTD Career Center for more information about our agency: http://..." That's also boilerplate; remove. Check for "Job Specification The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found here ." We kept a sentence. Check for "Job Duties: Job Duties and Other Information Depending on level and assignment, Engineer 3 – Engineer 5 may:" we turned into list. Check for "Position-Specific Details:" we split into Career Progression, Compensation, Appointment Type. Check for "Additional
