About the role
Omega Technical Services is seeking an Engineer 3 to support ongoing operations in Los Alamos, NM. The role involves performing a full range of design engineering responsibilities in support of facility design, operation, and maintenance activities.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for assigned activities within an engineering discipline in support of facility design, operation and maintenance.
- Applies broad and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in the preparation of complex engineering analyses.
- Performs all aspects of work in engineering operations within discipline.
- Performs conventional structural design and analysis.
- Provides system integration within and across disciplines.
- Provides construction and project support.
- May lead projects and supervise the work of others.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Utilizes engineering technology to accomplish work.
- Leads work process improvement to meet customer needs.
- Perform conventional engineering design, analysis, and calculations.
- Develop, review, and support engineering design packages.
- Provide construction, field, and project engineering support.
- Work independently and collaboratively as part of a multi-discipline team.
- Apply engineering technology and tools to deliver high-quality work.
- Interface with stakeholders across disciplines in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
- Minimum 6 years of relevant engineering experience aligned with the responsibilities above.
- This position may be subject to DOE Order 426.2, Personnel Selection, Training, and Qualification Requirements for DOE Nuclear Facilities.
Qualifications
- Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Satisfactory results of a pre-employment screening, which includes a drug and breath alcohol test, along with a Motor Vehicle Record check.
- Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Security Clearance.
- Working knowledge of industry, regulatory, and DOE/NNSA codes, standards, and criteria relevant to electrical engineering.
- Proven knowledge of commonly applied codes and standards at DOE and DoD facilities (e.g., NQA-1, IBC, NFPA, NEC).
- Prior experience facilitating and developing engineering design packages.
- Familiarity with typical engineering deliverables (e.g., construction documents).
- Experience with computer-aided design/drafting software or markup tools.
- Experience in Construction, producing and interpreting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Possession of an active DOE/DoD clearance within the past two (2) years is preferred.
- Previous DOE/NNSA work experience.
Working Schedule
Shift will be dependent upon customer site discretion.
