Engineer 2 ( Payment Systems)

Roles and Responsibilities

• Developing features of medium/high complexity under technical oversight from the Leads and Architect.
• Knowledge about payment networks, acquirers, and processors, handling complex transaction lifecycles, including authorization, settlement, and chargebacks.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java microservices, Java Spring Batch processing, and AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of system design, non-functional requirements, and API integrations.
• Independent delivery of features end-to-end as well as supporting production systems (incidents, fixes, improvements).
• Writing technical documentation such as Kruchten 4+1 diagrams, Run Books, Change Plans, Road Maps, DR Plans, KA's or other architectural drawings.
• Presentation skills including PowerPoint.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, Payment vendors/processors, architecture, and operations teams.
• Works with junior engineers on the team as a mentor to help ensure that functional and non-functional requirements are met.
