Engineer 2, Black Utilities
About the role
The Engineer 2, Black Utilities supports field personnel in maintaining and improving HVAC systems, Chilled Water Systems, Steam Boilers, Cooling Towers, HVAC and Glycol Chiller, and Compressed Air Systems. They collaborate with other Utility Engineers to ensure safety and regulatory standards are met, identify process improvements, and troubleshoot equipment issues.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with Senior Utility Engineers to ensure project deliverables are performed to company standards
- Aid in developing Project Change Controls (PCCs) to document design changes
- Assist with deviations and change control resolutions
- Review submittals, installation, and testing of equipment
- Perform field walkdowns to ensure systems are installed according to approved standards
- Provide technical support for plant utilities and systems
- Collaborate with Senior Engineers to review and approve Preventative Maintenance templates
- Support Utility Operators and Maintenance Technicians with operational issues
- Develop User Requirement Specs, SOPs, and equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
- Implement maintenance strategies to improve equipment reliability
- Perform standard troubleshooting for equipment challenges
- Cross-train on multiple disciplines to assist with team goals
- Collaborate with other departments for project success
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with 2 years of experience in process utility components and systems
- Experience in GMP or highly regulated environments
- Knowledge of cGMP and EMEA or FDA regulations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to analyze and troubleshoot system and component issues
Preferred Skills
- Experience in establishing processes and procedures for operation, troubleshooting, and monitoring process utility systems
