Join Southern California Edison (SCE) as an Engineer 1, Energy Efficiency and support our portfolio of multi-million-dollar Energy Efficiency (EE) programs. These programs incentivize the adoption of energy-efficient measures (e.g., heat pumps) or behaviors to deliver energy savings. You’ll focus on "Deemed" projects, creating measure packages that optimize installation processes and set energy savings for future projects. This role involves key support for senior engineers, including revising measure packages, operationalizing requirements, and overseeing data and installation procedures. Strong cross-functional collaboration, technical proficiency in workpaper writing, and a desire to learn business operations are essential.

Employees are expected to participate in emergency response and business continuity efforts, including serving on an Incident Management Team (IMT) on an on-call rotation (approximately every four to six weeks). IMT assignments may differ from regular responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares technical engineering evaluations and supports inspections of equipment and operations.
  • Assists in reviewing and applying new technologies to improve service quality for customers.
  • Maintains records and documentation on engineering procedures, preventative maintenance, and demand maintenance.
  • Assists with engineering projects using existing procedures to investigate, evaluate, and produce cost-effective designs and solutions.
  • Supports the document lifecycle within assigned projects according to defined organizational processes.
  • Provides operational support to improve customer satisfaction and reliability performance; monitors electrical system health trends.
  • Assists with Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Apparent Cause Analysis (ACA), and miscellaneous investigations to troubleshoot and correct problems.
  • Ensures adherence to all safety policies and standards during task execution.
  • Protects SCE’s physical, financial, and cybersecurity assets, and manages sensitive data (e.g., customer data, proprietary information) with integrity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a scientific/technical/math field.
  • Experience performing engineering work in operations, production, construction, or maintenance environments.
  • Valid Class C Driver's License.

Qualifications

  • FE (Fundamentals of Engineering) / EIT (Engineering in Training) designation.
  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience using data analysis and automation tools such as Power Query, Power Automate, Alteryx, Python, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, or Snowflake.
  • Basic programming or scripting experience in Python, SQL, VBA, or similar technologies.
  • Experience creating dashboards, reports, or data visualizations to support business decision-making using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Excel.

Schedule

This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. The work mode may change based on business needs.
