Entry-level role supporting turbine-engine maintenance by cleaning parts, maintaining shop equipment and chemicals, and—under direct supervision—learning to inspect and repair engines and components to manufacturer, Duncan Aviation, and customer specifications.
Responsibilities
- Clean turbine engine parts after disassembly.
- Assist with engine disassembly as directed by the Team Leader or supervisor.
- Label, store, and coordinate disposal of all shop chemicals and waste.
- Perform minor maintenance and repair on shop equipment; arrange unscheduled maintenance with the facilities team.
- Pick up and deliver shop items, supplies, and equipment as requested.
- Complete daily and weekly checklists for chemical and equipment support tasks.
- Under the supervision of certificated technicians, assist with inspections, servicing, repair, and maintenance of engines and components using proper tools, technical data, and verbal instructions.
- Order general parts as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Enrollment in an FAA-approved Powerplant Maintenance program preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Respirator fit qualification.
- Man-lift qualification as required by job location.
- Tool inventory per department tool list required within six months of hire.
Physical & Environmental Demands
- Routinely lifts up to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
- Reads small print.
- Hears sounds associated with mechanical deficiencies.
- Repetitive motion; works with moving parts and vibration.
- Tolerates products, materials, and fumes associated with component maintenance.
- Works in confined spaces and at heights above four feet.
- Tolerates standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing, and sitting.
- Works in extreme temperatures and noisy environments.
