Engine Technician Helper

Entry-level role supporting turbine-engine maintenance by cleaning parts, maintaining shop equipment and chemicals, and—under direct supervision—learning to inspect and repair engines and components to manufacturer, Duncan Aviation, and customer specifications.

Responsibilities

• Clean turbine engine parts after disassembly.
• Assist with engine disassembly as directed by the Team Leader or supervisor.
• Label, store, and coordinate disposal of all shop chemicals and waste.
• Perform minor maintenance and repair on shop equipment; arrange unscheduled maintenance with the facilities team.
• Pick up and deliver shop items, supplies, and equipment as requested.
• Complete daily and weekly checklists for chemical and equipment support tasks.
• Under the supervision of certificated technicians, assist with inspections, servicing, repair, and maintenance of engines and components using proper tools, technical data, and verbal instructions.
• Order general parts as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Enrollment in an FAA-approved Powerplant Maintenance program preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Respirator fit qualification.
• Man-lift qualification as required by job location.
• Tool inventory per department tool list required within six months of hire.

Physical & Environmental Demands

• Routinely lifts up to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
• Reads small print.
• Hears sounds associated with mechanical deficiencies.
• Repetitive motion; works with moving parts and vibration.
• Tolerates products, materials, and fumes associated with component maintenance.
• Works in confined spaces and at heights above four feet.
• Tolerates standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing, and sitting.
• Works in extreme temperatures and noisy environments.
