Primary Responsibilities
- Determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests
- Identify worn and damaged parts
- Overhaul and repair engines or motors
- Disassemble engines and repair or replace defective parts
- Reassemble engines and make adjustments as needed
- Use oxygen-acetylene, electro arc-welding or similar types of equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance, maintain and repair engines, and oil and lubricate engine and chassis
- Install timing gears, crankshafts, bearings, cylinders, and drive systems
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to maintain a good driving record to operate commercial motor vehicles
- Adhere to all local state (provincial) and federal vehicular regulations while driving

Work Environment
- The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, machines, fumes, or chemicals.
- May be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields.
Physical Demands
- The work requires some physical exertion, such as long periods both indoors and outdoors while remaining stationary, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 lbs. assisted or unassisted.
