About the role
The Engine Part Out Inspector I, with moderate supervision, inspects a variety of engine components and systems in a safe, clean work environment in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications, Duncan Aviation-approved procedures, and customer specifications. The inspector also prepares appropriate airworthiness documentation for the inspected parts and performs repairs as needed.
Responsibilities
- Performs high-quality inspections of aircraft engines, systems, and components on a variety of aircraft engines using proper hand tools in a timely, clean, safe, and professional manner in accordance with Duncan Aviation-approved procedures, appropriate maintenance manuals, and technical data.
- Completes all required paperwork and performs Quality Inspector (QI/VI) duties.
- Occasional repairs to engine parts as needed to bring them to an airworthy status.
- With moderate supervision, prepares various documents for record-keeping purposes, as required by company policy and FAA regulations (i.e., 8130s, engine log cards, turnovers, engine process sheets, personal training log, etc.).
- Demonstrates knowledge of Duncan Aviation work order system by completing accurate and timely discrepancies and corrective action statements, Service Bulletins and Airworthiness Directives (AD), compliance statements, final inspection, closing of squawks, and reviewing and closing work orders.
- Determines availability of parts for sales quotes and engine overhaul shop needs.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Licenses/Certificates: Forklift qualified; Powerplant Certificate; RTS/QI or VI designation required; tool Inventory required by department tool list.
- Attendance: Regularly scheduled in-person attendance is required.
- Physical: Routinely lifts up to 50 lbs., occasionally up to 100 lbs.; reads small print; tolerates products and materials associated with component maintenance.
- Environmental: Tolerates working in noisy environments.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Three years of related aircraft engine maintenance experience preferred.
Skills
- Knowledge of Duncan Aviation work order system.
- Ability to read small print.
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
- Ability to tolerate products and materials associated with component maintenance.
