The Role
As a Engine Dyno Technician, you will help drive goals by:
- Running prescribed test sequences and test parameters as specified on the line-up for Diesel development, Gasoline aging, or Oven aging with minimal supervision.
- Making sure the cells are monitored during the running of a test, checking temperature, oil pressure, and other readings.
- Maintaining control and instruments, and recording test data.
- Monitoring strip charts which check heat, vacuum, temperature, fuel, air readings, etc.
- Checking engines for fuel or oil leaks or engine malfunctions.
- Complying with Johnson Matthey Hazardous Waste procedures and local, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
- Completing daily shift reports and notes before the next shift arrives, and assisting other technicians to accurately complete their reports.
- Conducting troubleshooting of instrumentation and engines.
- Installing engines and parts to be tested.
- Connecting valves, hydraulic, mechanical, or electrical controls and indicating instrumentation.
- Performing daily housekeeping to work areas and provided tools.
- Utilizing 5S practices where appropriate.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Keys that will help you succeed in this role
- A High School Diploma is required.
- 3-5 years of Test Cell experience is desired.
- Familiarity and ability to demonstrate standard mechanical concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Class C MUSTR certification must be obtained within 24 months of being in role.
- Basic Math Skills.
- Good verbal communication skills (with other employees, both within the current shift and other shifts, persons in other departments, etc.).
- Competency with Microsoft suite of programs.
- Open to 2nd Shift Work Schedule (Mon – Fri 2:30PM to 11:00PM).
