About the role

At EY, we’re committed to shaping your future with confidence. We help you succeed in a globally connected powerhouse of diverse teams and support your career growth. Our internal finance function is continuously advancing to meet complex client needs and strategic ambitions. The US Pipeline-to-Cash Business Operations (P2C) team proactively supports client-serving teams on account decisions, annual planning, financial performance management, engagement margin improvement, and investment decisions.

As an Engagement Business Advisor (EBA) – Senior Associate, you will serve as an experienced finance professional within the Engagement Business Operations (EBO) sub-team of P2C. You will independently own and manage engagement-level financial and operational activities throughout the opportunity and engagement lifecycle. Acting as a trusted advisor to a defined book of business, you will support Partners, Principals, and Managing Directors (PPMDs) by providing proactive guidance, data-driven insights, and risk-informed recommendations to enable effective engagement management. You will drive engagement readiness, monitor financial and operational health, and identify risks early to support quality, compliance, and financial objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a complex book of business to drive engagement-level financial analysis, including pricing considerations, budget-to-actual performance, and estimates to complete.
  • Apply finance system, process, and policy expertise to identify financial risks or trends early, communicate/escalate impacts clearly, and recommend corrective actions to support revenue recognition, margin performance, billing strategy, and collections outcomes.
  • Maintain high-quality data and CRM hygiene, actively monitoring for gaps, inconsistencies, or process breakdowns that may pose financial, operational, or compliance risk.
  • Lead and coordinate client and engagement acceptance activities, including independence and conflict processes, applying firm policy knowledge to support quality and risk compliance.
  • Draft engagement contracts and related legal documentation (e.g., engagement agreements, SOWs, NDAs, non-reliance letters), applying risk awareness and judgment to support appropriate commercial and compliance outcomes.
  • Support the full engagement lifecycle by coordinating the execution of agreements, maintaining compliant contract documentation, advising on launch readiness, and managing closeout, archiving, and financial processes (including billing, revenue, and AR) to ensure accuracy and alignment with firm standards.

Skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport across varying social styles and communicate effectively with senior executives.
  • Executive presence, strong written and verbal communication skills, effective collaboration capabilities, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proven attention to detail, planning, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, adapt to changing priorities, and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of EY opportunity management, deal enablement, and administrative systems.
  • Intellectual curiosity, problem-solving ability, data-driven mindset, and adherence to established procedures while applying basic technical and business skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, recognize when extra effort is needed, and work in a virtual teaming environment with video collaboration.
  • Good listening skills and the ability to apply judgment to seek help when needed to provide focused advice.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to change and act as an effective change agent.
  • Knowledge of core business concepts and accounting.
  • Strong proficiency with standard business tools, including Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint), SharePoint, and CRM systems.
  • Familiarity/proficiency with GenAI productivity tools in a business setting, such as Microsoft Copilot.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree or relevant experience; may consider relevant work experience in business, finance, accounting, operations, or legal fields.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive compensation and benefits package, with rewards based on performance and recognition for the value you bring to the business.
  • Medical and dental coverage, pension, and 401(k) plans.
  • Flexible vacation policy, allowing you to decide how much vacation time you need based on personal circumstances.
  • Designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence to support physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
