Engagement & Academic Program Manager
for sections like About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. Use - for any list of duties/requirements/benefits, and
for prose. Do NOT repeat job title as heading. Do NOT put Job ID/requisition numbers as headings. Preserve all substantive info. Remove boilerplate, navigation, legal, EEO, equal-opportunity, scam-warning, duplicated lines, application instructions. Include a section only when posting has real, specific content for it — never emit heading followed by filler/placeholder text like "commensurate with experience", etc. Never create Pay/Schedule/Benefits sections unless posting actually states them. Prefer few substantive sections over many thin ones.
We need to parse the posting.
The posting includes:
- About FIU (description of university) – could be "About the role"? Actually "About FIU" is about the university, not the role. The instruction says use
for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule). So we need to map content to those headings.
We have:
- Job Summary: description of responsibilities. That's responsibilities.
- Minimum Qualifications: qualifications.
- Desired Qualifications: maybe also qualifications or skills.
- Job Category: Administrative (maybe not needed).
- Advertised Salary: $50,000 - $55,000 => Pay section.
- Work Schedule: Begin time: 8:30 AM End time: 5:00 PM => Schedule section.
- Pre-Employment Requirements: Criminal Background Check (maybe not needed? It's a requirement but could be part of Requirements? It's a pre-employment requirement; we could include under Requirements or maybe as a bullet under Requirements.
- Other Information: Ability to work evenings and weekends. Ability to work flexible hours as needed. That could be part of Schedule or Requirements.
- How To Apply sections (both current employee and prospective employee) – we need to remove application instructions.
- Disclosures, Clery Notice, Pay Transparency, Notice of Non-Discrimination, Reasonable Accommodation Statement – all boilerplate to remove.
Thus we need to produce sections: About the role? Possibly we could include a brief about the role from Job Summary? But the instruction says use for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule). So we need to decide which sections to include based on content.
We have substantive content for:
- Responsibilities (Job Summary and many bullet-like sentences). We can turn into - list.
- Requirements (Minimum Qualifications, Pre-Employment Requirements, Other Information maybe). Could be combined.
- Qualifications (Desired Qualifications) maybe separate or part of Requirements.
- Skills (maybe from Desired Qualifications: Experience working in higher education, prior experience with advanced features in Microsoft Office Suite). Could be Skills.
- Pay (Advertised Salary).
- Schedule (Work Schedule, plus ability to work evenings/weekends/flexible hours).
We should avoid thin sections. Perhaps combine Requirements and Qualifications into one "Requirements" section that includes both minimum and desired qualifications. Or we could have separate sections: Requirements (minimum qualifications) and Qualifications (desired). But instruction says prefer few substantive sections over many thin ones. So maybe combine into one "Requirements" covering both minimum and desired.
Skills could be part of Requirements as well.
Thus we could have sections:
- Responsibilities (list of duties)
- Requirements (minimum qualifications, desired qualifications, pre-employment requirements, other info)
- Pay
- Schedule
We might also include About the role? The "About FIU" is about the university, not the role. Could be considered "About the role"? But it's more about the institution. The instruction says use
for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule). It doesn't mandate we must include About the role; we include only if posting has real, specific content for it. The posting does have a paragraph about FIU. That could be considered "About the role" (context). It's substantive. So we could include an About the role section with that paragraph.
Thus sections: About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Pay, Schedule.
We need to avoid duplication: The Job Summary includes many sentences that are repetitive (some duplicated lines). We need to preserve all substantive information but remove duplicated lines. Let's extract responsibilities from the Job Summary and following sentences.
Let's copy the responsibilities text:
"Manages the design, implementation, and evaluation of engagement programs/initiatives including colloquia, lectures, and other academic programming that build affinity to the Honors College and the institution. Assists with space allocation for special events, as required. Utilizes data and reporting tools to research, analyze, and propose improvements. Stays abreast of best practices related to student development and engagement."
We see some duplicated sentences: "Plans and executes Honors Hours, Lectures, and Colloquia, in addition to selected Honors College events such as the Pinning Ceremony, Club Fair, and Football Game." and then "Plans and executes Honors Hours, Lectures, and Colloquial, in addition to selected Honors College events." The second is a typo (Colloquial) and less specific; we can keep the first and maybe drop the second as duplicate. Also "Manages day-to-day operations..." appears once.
We need to produce a list (- ) of duties. We'll condense but preserve all substantive info; we can split into separate list items for each distinct duty.
Let's extract distinct duties:
1. Manages the design, implementation, and evaluation of engagement programs/initiatives including colloquia, lectures, and other academic programming that build affinity to the Honors College and the institution.
2. Serves as the key liaison with Honors College Housing and collaborating University units.
3. Manages day-to-day operations of student engagement programs to meet College and University goals and objectives.

22. Assists with space allocation for special events, as required.
23. Utilizes data and reporting tools to research, analyze, and propose improvements.
24. Stays abreast of best practices related to student development and engagement.
We could combine some similar items: e.g., items 9 and 20 both about supervising/training students and providing guidance; but they are distinct: 9 is supervising selects trains evaluates student assistants etc; 20 is providing guidance and support to student leaders via training and mentoring. Could keep both.
Now Requirements:

Desired Qualifications: Master's degree in higher education administration, student affairs, or a related field. Experience working in higher education, preferably with first-year students and/or orientation, retention, transition, advising, and coaching programming. Prior experience with advanced features in Microsoft Office Suite.
