About the role
The Energy Service Representative (ESR) plays a crucial role in Willdan's energy efficiency programs, focusing on commercial customers to reduce costs and energy consumption. Willdan offers a comprehensive benefits package, competitive compensation, and a supportive work environment.
Responsibilities
- Generate leads through door-to-door canvassing and conduct in-person outreach to drive customer engagement and sales opportunities.
- Provide information on available utility incentives and program details, and present tailored solutions for energy conservation upgrades and program incentives.
- Maintain strong ongoing communications with customers to ensure satisfaction and accurately report daily activities using Willdan’s data platform, ViewPoint.
- Attend weekly and monthly sales meetings to define and monitor prospecting and project goals, reporting on daily sales and activities.
- Engage in energy assessments of commercial buildings, identifying lighting and refrigeration opportunities, and document the process of educating and enrolling potential customers.
- Operate with safety as a top priority, ensuring a safe work environment and complying with all safety and employee guidelines.
Qualifications
- 2-5 years of outside sales experience.
- A high school diploma or equivalent, with an associate degree or higher from an accredited institution preferred.
- Detail-oriented and analytical skills.
- Ability to work with all levels of internal staff and external clients and vendors.
- Experience with energy auditing, commercial lighting, or refrigeration is a plus.
- A self-motivated, accountable, and sales-oriented mindset.
- An outgoing personality and excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to learn and present energy efficient lighting and refrigeration concepts as well as other measures in the future.
- A proven ability to generate leads and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Sound business ethics and the protection of proprietary and confidential information.
- Proficiency with technology, including cell phones, iPads, laptops, and MS Office applications.
- Reliable access to a vehicle for daily travel within the assigned market area.
Requirements
- A valid California driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
- A sound understanding of business ethics and the protection of proprietary and confidential information.
- Compliance with the Company’s business expense reimbursement policy.
