About the role
We are seeking a Principal Research Engineer to lead research and development in Charging and Energy Technologies.
Responsibilities
- Conducting advanced research on renewable energy integration, electrical infrastructure, battery systems, and energy conversion.
- Collaborating with industry partners and academic institutions to develop innovative solutions.
- Managing end-to-end execution of research programs, including proof-of-value demonstrations and prototypes.
- Supporting the design of scalable, reliable energy and charging prototypes.
- Leading new technologies into the company's strategic portfolio and ensuring technical outcomes align with objectives.
- Staying informed on emerging energy and charging trends and documenting findings to enhance technical capabilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems, or related STEM field.
- Minimum of 8+ years industry experience in energy storage, renewable integration, or related projects.
- Knowledge of electrical grid infrastructure, V2X, battery technologies, and energy systems modeling tools like Matlab and Simulink.
- Proficiency in programming (Python) and data analytics, with familiarity in AI/ML frameworks.
- Experience in designing energy prototypes, and working with cross-functional teams.
Workstyle: Onsite with possible remote work one day per week with approval.
