About the role
The Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) seeks a Skilled Service position offering full State of Maryland benefits. Located in Prince George's County, the department is near the New Carrollton Metro Stop, Amtrak, and MARC Train. The HBEP division administers various programs to improve energy efficiency in residential buildings, supporting local employment and climate goals.
Responsibilities
- Conduct site visits to inspect installations of energy efficiency measures, ensuring compliance with approved documents and best practices.
- Review energy audits, pricing, and other required documentation for acceptability, including scheduling and payment requests.
- Provide training and technical assistance to network partners on energy modeling and project completion.
- Examine, analyze, and approve contractor proposals, work plans, and specifications, ensuring compliance with funding source requirements.
- Maintain oversight of project progress and assist service providers in resolving issues during the construction process.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Architecture, Construction Management, Finance, Economics, Real Estate, or a related field, plus three years of experience evaluating risk in loans, government assistance programs, and construction management.
- Experience: Seven years of experience evaluating risk in loans, government assistance programs, and construction management. Additional experience with energy diagnostic equipment, independent inspections, and energy modeling is preferred.
