Energy Projects Manager, AWS Energy Team

About the role
Amazon is looking for a results-oriented individual to join the AWS Energy Team. In this role, you will support AWS’s infrastructure expansion by leading energy projects with electric utilities and energy companies across AWS regions. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to grow AWS’s diverse, reliable, and low-cost energy supply. The candidate must manage the execution of multiple large-scale power infrastructure projects across different geographies in AMER Central, including utility interactions and coordination with internal and external engineering, real estate, and planning teams. This role requires some domestic travel (less than 20%).
The ideal candidate will possess a strong energy background and a proven track record of developing and delivering innovative energy projects, including power generation plants, energy storage, and electric infrastructure. Experience working with regulated electric utilities to develop, contract, and deliver medium and high-voltage power infrastructure, related tariffs, and agreements is essential. The right candidate will demonstrate strategic thinking about business, operational, and technical challenges, with the ability to drive tactical execution of project schedules, contracts, initiatives, and team goals.
Responsibilities
- Manage multiple utilities, EPC, and Owner's Engineers to deliver a portfolio of inflight power generation and medium/high-voltage power infrastructure projects.
- Manage capital budgets for power infrastructure and energy projects.
- Collaborate with internal teams and regulated utilities on the implementation and management of energy projects in a timely and accurate fashion.
- Identify and develop innovative cost-saving projects and initiatives related to energy infrastructure and supply.
- Work with utility regulators to develop policies and guidelines that enable broader AWS strategies and objectives.
- Ensure the energy requirements needed to support AWS's global infrastructure expansion are met by establishing and growing business and technical relationships.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of technical infrastructure management experience.
- Knowledge of best practices and emerging technologies related to infrastructure (e.g., network, data center, hardware, software).
- Experience with varying scenarios of infrastructure builds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
- Experience managing multiple projects and priorities across teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Experience with design or construction administration of electrical distribution systems ranging from low voltage to high voltage.
- Experience in data centers, infrastructure service providers, or related technology companies.
- Experience delivering results for large, cross-functional initiatives/projects or solving complex business challenges with financial models, analysis, and recommendations.
- Experience evaluating and implementing innovative infrastructure and operational strategies within the energy sector, such as power generation, energy storage, and demand response.

Pay
The base salary range for this position is:
- USA, TX, Austin: $127,100.00 - $171,900.00 USD annually
- USA, VA, Arlington: $127,100.00 - $171,900.00 USD annually
- USA, WA, Seattle: $127,100.00 - $171,900.00 USD annually
Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
