Responsibilities
- Manages all stages of commissioning process, from initial planning and design reviews to final testing and handover
- Creates commissioning plans, schedules, test procedures (like IET and IPVT/IST), and verification checklists
- Ensures the facility and its systems comply with design specifications, health and safety standards, and performance requirements
- Acts as the main point of contact and manages communication between various teams, clients, vendors, and subcontractors
- Prepares and manages all necessary documentation, including inspection reports, test results, and final certification documents
- Performs and oversees various tests, such as functional testing and site acceptance testing, to verify system performance
- Trains direct reports on processes, procedures, and completion of daily tasks
- Manages workload and performance of direct reports, ensuring alignment with overall company standards
- Fosters a positive and inclusive work environment to motivate and engage team members
- Aids in communicating company and department strategy to direct reports
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
- 10-12 years of data center commissioning experience
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- In-depth knowledge of data center systems, including power distribution, cooling, HVAC, and IT equipment
- Ability to manage schedules, budgets, change orders, and multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels
- Ability to identify and resolve issues promptly and effectively
