  • Establish and strengthen relationships with renewable energy owners and developers while positioning DEA to provide owner’s engineer, infrastructure, interconnection, and power delivery services.
  • Drive business development strategy by guiding market growth plans, client strategy, sales forecasting, pursuit strategy, go/no-go discussions, teaming decisions, proposal development, and contract positioning for priority renewable energy opportunities.
  • Build and maintain trusted client relationships with renewable developers, contractors, utilities, and strategic partners, serving as a senior market-facing leader when executive presence or escalation is needed.
  • Support growth in DEA’s renewable energy services, including balance of plant, substation and switchyard design, transmission interconnects, energy storage, owner’s engineer services, feasibility and due diligence, site development, and power system studies.
  • Partner with project managers and technical delivery leaders to ensure pursuit strategies are grounded in realistic staffing, delivery capacity, quality expectations, schedule commitments, risk management, and profitability.
  • Monitor market performance, including sales results, pipeline health, backlog, client mix, net revenue forecasts, profitability, and business development spending.
  • Represent DEA externally through client meetings, industry events, conferences, strategic partnerships, and visibility activities that strengthen DEA’s renewables brand in target markets.
  • Partner on recruiting, retention, and talent development efforts to ensure DEA has the leadership, technical expertise, and client-facing capacity needed to grow the Renewables market.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 12 years of related experience in a complex consulting, engineering, energy, renewable development, utility, EPC/EPCM, or similar organization.

  • Experience leading or coordinating business development efforts, including opportunity identification, client strategy, pursuit planning, proposal development, and contract positioning.
  • Strong understanding of renewable energy markets, including utility-scale wind, solar, battery energy storage, interconnection, balance of plant, owner’s engineer, or related infrastructure services.
  • Proven ability to establish clear objectives, deliver measurable results, solve complex business or project issues, and coordinate across multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trusted client relationships, develop staff or client-facing teams, and gain support from multiple stakeholders.
