About the role

Eversheds Sutherland (US) LLP is seeking an Associate to join its Energy practice in our Atlanta, New York, Houston or Washington, DC office. We are looking to add a team member with 3–5 years of transactional law firm experience preferably in the energy finance area. We cultivate exceptional attorneys across all levels by providing them with the tools and experiences needed to build successful careers. The attorney will join a practice that supports clients on the financing of a wide range of domestic and international energy and large-scale infrastructure projects across diverse energy sectors. This position also provides a significant opportunity to represent a range of entities on structuring and negotiating projects across diverse energy sectors, including solar, wind, geothermal and other renewable power, storage, carbon capture, nuclear, LNG, Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) and other traditional gas and steam power generation projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle financing transactions within the energy sector.
  • Support complex energy transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, project development, construction contracts, and commercial agreements.
  • Manage multiple matters simultaneously while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.
  • Engage directly with clients and develop a strong understanding of their business objectives.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of transactional law firm experience, preferably in the energy finance area.
  • Impeccable credentials and work experience.
  • Self-motivation, professionalism, and creativity.
  • Personal qualities, skills, and interests that will enhance and enrich the Firm.

Pay & Schedule

  • Salary range: $260,000–365,000, commensurate with years of relevant experience and geographic location.
  • In-office presence required three days per week.
