Schnackel Engineers, Inc. is seeking an Energy Modeler to join their team. The ideal candidate will leverage their engineering expertise and skills to revolutionize the MEP/FP/IT engineering industry through sustainable designs and innovative software.
Responsibilities
- Design Superior Quality Plans: Collaborate with the AI for MEP® software to produce high-quality, accurate plans quickly.
- Help Shape the Future of Revolutionary Software: Contribute to the development and improvement of AI for MEP® through expert feedback and input.
- Guide Your Colleagues: Utilize personal experiences and expertise to enhance the work environment and support team members.
- Coordinate with Clients and Teams: Ensure all parties involved are aligned with the project vision, resolve conflicts, and maintain a coordinated interdisciplinary design process.
- Participate in Meetings: Attend necessary meetings and conference calls to stay informed and contribute effectively.
- Become Familiar with Codes: Understand and apply relevant building codes to the project.
- Energy Simulations: Assist design teams with equipment selection and strategies to meet energy use goals.
- Prepare Documentation: Create documentation for LEED and WELL projects.
- Energy Compliance Reports: Generate reports such as COMcheck, California Title 24/EnergyPro, Energy Gauge, Seattle/Washington State, and ASHRAE forms.
- Solve Engineering Problems: Use industry standards and calculations to address engineering challenges.
- Mentor and Guide: Share knowledge and experience with colleagues to foster growth and development.
Requirements
- ABET-accredited degree in Architectural or Mechanical Engineering with an emphasis on Energy.
- Two or more years of energy modeling experience with an MEP/FP engineering consultant.
- LEED BD+C, or ID+C credentials.
- Experience with EnergyPlus, OpenStudio, Carrier Hourly Analysis Program (HAP), Trane Air Conditioning Economics Program (TRACE 700 or TRACE 3D PlusTM).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft 360.
- Knowledge of MEP engineering principles.
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently.
