Energy Engineer

About the role

Davenergy Solutions is seeking a full-time Energy Engineer to join their dynamic and growing engineering consulting team. The ideal candidate will have experience performing energy audits, conducting retro-commissioning services, and assisting with limited design assistance services.

Responsibilities

• Conduct energy audits at government facilities
• Perform retro-commissioning services
• Assist with limited design assistance services on various property types
• Collect relevant information to redesign Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs)
• Perform energy benchmarking and cost/benefit analysis
• Utilize energy modeling software such as eQUEST, TREAT, or similar tools
• Work with a variety of HVAC systems
• Assist with mechanical design for Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs) as needed

Requirements

• Experience performing energy audits (ASHRAE Level I, II, and III)
• Experience with energy savings calculations and life cycle cost analysis (LCCA)
• Retro-commissioning experience and ECM Determination
• An ABET accredited bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• Familiarity with a variety of HVAC systems
• Familiarity with ASHRAE standards and ICC Building, Mechanical, and Green Energy Codes
• Experience with whole building energy modeling
• Excellent report writing skills and computer/internet proficiency
• Strong communication and management skills
• Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
• Ability to travel on short notice (1 week or less)
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods

Qualifications

• EIT (Engineer-in-Training) certification required
• Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification required
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification preferred
