About the role

Weaver is seeking talented professionals to join our growing Energy Compliance Services (ECS) team. The ECS practice helps businesses navigate compliance with evolving regulations, including those governed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the California Air Resources Board, as well as other states and provinces. Our focus includes managing human impact on the environment, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and increasing sustainability, with expertise in transportation fuel regulations for both petroleum-based and renewable fuels.

The ECS Regulatory Consulting Services Manager will develop expertise in laws and regulations related to low-carbon fuels programs and voluntary greenhouse gas emission reduction programs. Responsibilities include leading life cycle analysis and modeling engagements, acting as a subject matter expert on regulatory compliance and technical interpretation, and collaborating with audit and advisory teams on greenhouse gas emissions and climate-related disclosures.

Responsibilities

• Lead life cycle analysis and modeling engagements for federal and state low-carbon fuel programs.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on regulatory compliance and technical interpretation.
• Collaborate with audit and advisory teams on limited and reasonable assurance over greenhouse gas emissions and climate-related disclosures.
• Supervise team activities and review deliverables for completeness, accuracy, and technical proficiency.
• Direct engagement planning activities, including time budgets, required documentation, procedure design, and risk identification.
• Manage existing business of at least $500,000 and participate in business development activities, including internal and external marketing.
• Work closely with leadership in a physical office (Houston, Austin, or San Diego) or remotely from our Virtual Office.
• Mentor and lead a team of direct reports, typically assigned after the first year.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, chemistry, engineering, or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience in chemical engineering/environmental science, focused on greenhouse gas emissions accounting, modeling, and reporting.
• Solid background in project management, consulting, regulatory compliance, and/or client relations.
• Experience performing and leading life cycle modeling projects using GREET models and other program-specific calculators.
• Proficiency in greenhouse gas accounting and reporting using various frameworks.
• Extensive understanding of refining and renewable fuel production processes.
• Experience interpreting process flow diagrams (PFDs), process descriptions, and technical documentation.

• Passion for training and mentoring less experienced team members.
• Advanced degree (e.g., master's in engineering or environmental sciences) preferred.
• Experience assessing conflict and using interpersonal skills to reduce tension and enhance negotiation.

Pay

Annual Base Pay Range in California: $115,000.00 to $145,000.00. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
