About the Role

We are seeking a transactional associate with 2-5 years of experience to join our Energy department. This position will focus on commercial/transactional work, including commercial contracts, supplier agreements, power procurement arrangements, energy storage contracting, construction agreements, M&A transactions, project finance, and other strategic transactions. Candidates should have experience in commercial/transactional work and an interest in the energy industry. This position offers a hybrid work environment.

While candidates based in our Minneapolis office are preferred, we will also consider candidates interested in working from another Fredrikson office or candidates desiring to work remotely; arrangements would be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of legal experience in private practice or related in-house positions
  • Interest in the energy industry
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and writing skills
  • Strong academic background
  • J.D. from an ABA-Accredited Law School
  • Active attorney license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
  • The ability to practice law or the ability to become admitted in the state of New York is a plus
